India won match: Jasprit Bumrah, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli seal series for India against New Zealand
India won by six runs in a warm-up match, which was won by the hosts, by 2 runs in the three-match ODI series. This is the seventh consecutive series in ODI cricket of India. Rohit Sharma and skipper Virat Kohli smashed centuries in batting first. Then the spinners put on a bowl of the visitors and in the last four overs Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumaran's fierce bowling attack proved crucial in India's victory.
India captain Virat Kohli heaped praise on his bowlers as Jasprit Bumrah and Yuzvendra Chahal produced a brilliant performance to hand the hosts a six-run victory against New Zealand in a high-scoring third and final One-Day International (ODI) at Green Park Stadium, Kanpur on Sunday. In reply to India's mammoth 337/6, the Kiwis mustered 331/7 as they fell short by seven runs. Kohli expressed his satisfaction at his team's bowling performance and said he was glad the bowlers came out on top.
To be fair to the bowlers: the wicket eased out nicely. The ball was coming onto the bat beautifully. But glad the bowlers came out on top: it was like a knock-out game for us, and the boys showed their character," Kohli said at the post-match presentation.
It was a well-timed century from Rohit too, who had scores of 20 and seven in the previous two matches.
Rohit’s 138-ball 147 was his second century this month after he had scored 125 against Australia in the fifth ODI on October 1.
